Ten Privacy Principles

The following ten principles form the basis of’s Privacy Policy.

MaestroVision shall limit the collection of personal information to that which is necessary for the purposes identified by MaestroVision. Personal information shall be collected by fair and lawful means.

Principle 5 - Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention

MaestroVision shall not use or disclose personal information for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required by law. MaestroVision shall retain personal information only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes, or as required by law.

Principle 6 - Accuracy

Personal information shall be as accurate, complete and up-to-date as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it is to be used.

Principle 7 - Security Safeguards

Personal information shall be protected by security safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity level of the information.

Principle 8 - Openness Concerning Policies and Practices

MaestroVision shall make information available to its customers regarding its policies and practices that apply to the management of personal information.

Principle 9 - Individual Access

Upon request, a customer shall be informed of the existence, use and disclosure of his or her personal information, and shall be given access to that information. A customer shall be able to verify the accuracy and completeness of the information and have it amended as appropriate. A customer shall also be able to request the erasure of their personal information, subject to certain exceptions.

Principle 10 - Handling Complaints and Inquiries

MaestroVision shall maintain procedures for addressing and responding to all complaints and inquiries it receives from its customers about its handling of personal information.

The following sections explain how MaestroVision fulfills the ten principles set forth above in collecting, using, maintaining and protecting your personal information. When we refer to “we” or “MaestroVision”, we mean our entire company, including any company that we own or control. We may share information with companies that we own or control, but all information we share will always be protected under the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Collection of Your Personal Information

The personal information that collects and uses typically includes the information we collect when you submit any of our online forms including but not limited to a “contact us” form, a newsletter subscription, a feedback form, a careers form and a “submit your project” form. The personal information collected from these forms includes information such as your name, position, e-mail address, telephone number, company name and the relevant message content.

Whether or not you provide MaestroVision with personal information is always at your discretion. The decision to withhold particular details, however, may limit the products and services we are able to provide and make it more difficult for us to advise you or suggest appropriate alternatives. If we are unable to accommodate your request, based on the information that has been provided, we may ask for additional details in order to identify other ways in which we can be of assistance. We may also maintain a file containing contact history that is used for customer inquiry purposes.

We may also collect anonymous and non-personal information, or information that is aggregated in such a manner that it cannot be connected to a specific person.

In some cases, non-personal information and data may be automatically collected through the standard operation of our internet servers or through the use of “cookies”. Cookies are small bits of information that a web site transfers to an individual’s computer to identify your computer and to provide a record of your visits to a web site. Personal information which may be obtained through cookies may be used internally by MaestroVision to enhance your experience on our web site. The technology used to gather “cookie” information is provided by the Internet browser you use and stored on your browser. Use and Disclosure of Your Personal Information

Personal information is used to communicate with you, enhance your telephone transactions with us or your visit to our web site, process orders and effectively provide the products and services you have requested.

MaestroVision also uses the personal information we collect to provide marketing communications to you such as to inform you of other products or services available from MaestroVision and its affiliates. MaestroVision may also use your personal information to contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered.

When we share your personal information with companies that we own or control, it shall also be solely used, by these companies, for the purposes stated above.

In the event of a sale of all or substantially all of the assets of MaestroVision, records containing personal information may be transferred to the purchaser without your prior consent. We will not furnish your personal information to an outside organization for its own marketing or solicitation activities, without your prior consent.

We will only use your personal information for the purposes disclosed to you. You will be notified and your consent will be requested, should your personal information be required for a different purpose.

In some instances, we may be required to disclose certain information to specified authorities, such as in the furtherance of a legal proceeding or court order. In such cases, MaestroVision will ensure that the request made by the authorities is legitimate, and that only information specifically requested will be disclosed. There may also be some situations where we are legally permitted to disclose personal information, such as when collecting a delinquent account through lawful means, a medical emergency or suspicion of illegal activities.

MaestroVision will retain your personal information for the period determined to be reasonably necessary to properly furnish its business services to you or for any longer period of time as determined by applicable law.

Social Media Plug-Ins may include certain social media plug-ins. These features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our web site, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. Social media plug-ins are either hosted by a third party. Your interactions with these plug-ins are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.

Security of Your Personal Information

We employ current technologies to protect the confidentiality and privacy of your information. We have implemented top-level security standards to ensure that your personal information is protected against unauthorized access, disclosure, inappropriate alteration or misuse. All safety and security measures are commensurate to the sensitivity level of the information. Electronic client files are kept in a secured environment with restricted access. Paper-based files are also stored in restricted access areas.

Our server environment is tightly managed, our firewall infrastructure is strictly adhered to and our security practices are reviewed periodically to ensure they are adequate.

In the course of daily operations, we attempt to restrict access to personal information only to those authorized employees who are required to access it in order to fulfill their duties. As a condition of employment, all employees of MaestroVision are required to abide by the privacy standards we have established and to follow all applicable laws and regulations. Unauthorized access to and/or disclosure of any customer information by a MaestroVision employee is strictly prohibited. All employees are obliged to maintain the confidentiality of personal information at all times. Failure to do so will result in appropriate disciplinary measures, which may include dismissal.

Transfer of Personal Information Outside of Canada

Our head office is located in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Our server is also located in the province of Québec, Canada. In some cases, personal information that we manage may be processed in Canada and may be disclosed, processed and/or stored outside of Canada (namely, in the United States of America and/or Mexico), and therefore may be available to government authorities under lawful orders and laws applicable there. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your personal information is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Your Rights

As a customer, you have the right to access, verify and update the information held in your personal file(s). This right of access includes the right to know what personal information is being processed, why we have collected/processes this information, how we use this information and how we have retained this information. Such access will be granted at no cost.

Since it is important that your personal information be accurate and complete, we encourage you to amend inaccuracies and make corrections as often as necessary so that we will have up-to-date information.
